This project was a traditional refurbishment of two storey commercial unit, clinical space downstairs comprising of Consulting Room, Activity of Daily Living (ADL) Therapy Kitchen, WCs and Meeting Space. First floor staff only open plan office space with meeting rooms and breakout space.
This Community Health Hub refurbishment now has three mulit-functional spaces and is able to offer more face-to-face clinics and appointments closer to where people live. The facility has clinical space to offer enhanced physical health checks, previously people needed to travel to Colchester for this. Allied health professionals also now have space to store resources, this previously hindered services in this locality. The Activity of Daily Living (ADL) kitchen is a welcome addition with this being the only space in the North of the county.
The staff now enjoy the workspace upstairs and the rest and refresh space enables them to take time away from their workstation, which is really important for staff wellbeing.
Using local contractors (TJ Evers) enabled us to promote the service in the community, which felt hugely important by the client.

It’s great to reflect on the huge difference the renovation project has made to this community hub.
We have had lots of positive feedback from service user, families, and carers about the new facility, they like the open, bright, and fresh space. We have been told it feels relaxing and welcoming.
Using local contractors enabled us to also promote our service in the community, which we felt was hugely important.
