‘The Marlowes Health and Wellbeing Centre’: Creation of a new community integrated healthcare facility
The Project involves the refurbishment of 39-41 The Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, Herts, into a healthcare hub providing a mix of primary care and mental health outpatient facilities for the local community.
The range of both Children’s and Adults healthcare services being included are: Dentistry, Audiology, Speech and Language, Retinal Screening and Eye services, Leg Ulcer services, Physio/OT, Mental Health outpatient services for Children + Adults. The building will also provide agile work space for numerous community teams + include various meeting room spaces to aid team and service integration.
The project is an exciting joint venture between Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust and Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.
The existing internal areas have been subject to refurbishment over differing periods with tenant’s demountable partitioning remaining in-situ throughout the building. The building is served with a timber raised access floor throughout with solid floor to core areas. A central core provides male and female WC accommodation with three lifts and main staircase access. Secondary means of escape stairwells are provided to the north and west office wings. The building is generally in reasonable condition with building elements reaching the end of their useful life.
