Hertfordshire County Council have requested the assistance of Blu Building Consultants in the completion of the construction process, by providing both MEP Clerk of Works and Building Clerk of Works, to review two newly built Hertfordshire schools, that have been left somewhat incomplete due to the unfortunate demise of their main contractor, ISG, last summer. The inspection works for both The Bishop’s Stortford High School and Avanti Grange Secondary School are essential to ensure high quality and safe environments are constructed and ready to use.

Our Clerk of Works carried out on-site inspections recording any defects or works still outstanding.
Scope of Works
- Familiarisation with the site, the scope of contract works and the contract documentation
- Review all MEP commissioning information
- Full inspection of the entire site and buildings to produce a photographic record documenting the status of the project including any visual snags/defects
- Report to include inspection of all areas to identify defective or incomplete work and snags/latent defects
- Identification of any non-conformities against building regulations and contract documentation/requirements
- Our report is issued via an email link to an easy to read PDF or handy Excel document
These reports were then used by our client’s project team to assist in successfully closing out the final stages of the projects.
