Our Health and Safety Manager, Edward Braisher, has recently completed an accredited APS course aimed at designers wanting to take on the Principal Designer Duty Holder Role, and explore the practicalities of design risk managment, as required under Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM). It has enabled Edward to focus on design risk management alongside discharging the PD role for any size or type of project.
The role of the Principal Designer is to plan, manage, monitor and co-ordinate Health and Safety during the pre-construction phase and to liaise with the Principal Contractor and the Client in providing information relevant for the planning, management and monitoring of the construction phase.
Therefore Blu Building Consultants can assist clients who are working with more than one contractor on CDM defined projects in terms of meeting their legal obligations under CDM 2015 with the appointment of a Principal Designer.
