A new project for blu is the SIX FACET SURVEY (Fire Compliance) – Works are to address fire compliance and safety thought out the Estate including both residential and office accommodation. Upon completion these areas are rechecked to enable them to be signed off as compliant by an independent third party (BM TRADA www.bmtradagroup.co.uk ).

These works include a considerable degree of risk in that fire safety provisions are often in concealed areas that will be required to be opened up. This then introduces potential exposure to areas that may contain asbestos. Contingency sums have therefore been included within the contract cost plans which takes the forecast expenditure to circa £3.5m.
