Cheshunt Community Hospital, passenger lift replacement

As a part of the Hertfordshire Community Trust Backlog Maintenance Programme, Blu Building Consultants was tasked with the procurement and management for replacing the main passenger lift in Cheshunt Community Hospital, which is a two-stop lift (ground and first floor).

Blu Building Consultants had the Trust’s lift AE, Ilecs, survey and write up a specification for the replacement which was presented to four recommended lift suppliers via the Trust’s procurement agent (SBS). Ilecs also assisted with the project management aspect when it came to the more lift related technical elements.

Kleemann UK came out on top of this tender process as they showed good quality of equipment and were the most competitive on price.

Kleemann UK received instruction for this project and there was a circa ten week lead time for the lift.

The project started on site on 16th February, with a two week enabling phase where the old lift was stripped out, the new lift was then delivered to site on 2nd March and installed over the next three week period.

The project went extremely smoothly, and the client was extremely happy with the outcome.
