The overall programme developed two Integrated Secure Hubs offering the full Medium-Low Secure pathway for male service users with a learning disability. These replaced the current Medium Secure Services Warren Court and the Broadland Clinic.
Anticipated benefits from the programme include:
- Quicker, more seamless progression through the secure care pathway for service users
- Reducing the number of service or team transitions for service users
- Supporting continuity of care with the same team
- Care delivered closer to home
- Making visits easier for families and friends by consolidating services in one location
- The programme also provides the trust with a more sustainable and cost-effective provision of services and opportunities to make best use of existing secure bed inpatient estate.
- The transition to working in integrated hubs reduces the need for the East of England Provide Collaborative to spot purchase beds where low secure provision does not exist making significant savings as well as creating additional income.
The works involved:
- New anti-ligature windows
- Replacement rad covers
- New fitted furniture in all bedrooms
- Creation of a de-escalation room
- Creation of a clinical treatment room
- Series of general safety environmental improvements
- New pitch roof – slate
- Two new secure garden spaces
Programme – 10 x months construction period. Completed July 2026.
Procurement – ASHE Construction were awarded this project via the NHS SBS Framework.
